You probably have seen the How usable is new Nokia N8 video of Gizmodo already. In the said “throwdown”, experienced users put hands on various tasks, such as emailing, location etc.. on iPhone 4, Nokia N8 and Blackberry and as a result Nokia N8 ends up to be the slowest among those.
If you look close, many of you will probably get very frustrated, because Nokia N8 expert(!) “somehow” seems to be slower than an average user would have been. He takes all his time to type, turn, tap etc.. Obviously, there is something wrong, one even can question if that’s intentional, think if Gizmodo doesn’t like Nokia much or ask simply why?
Nokia is still world’s largest phone company. As there are many lovers, there are many not-so-lovers. Would it be safe to say that, it turned to be fashionble nowadays to say ‘Nokia sucks’? Would saying ‘Nokia is not as good as it used to be’ together with ‘Symbian sucks’ be driving attention and traffic? So does Gizmodo really hate Nokia? Let’s leave this as an open discussion here, but even this was true, it would be more of a ‘love’ than ‘hate’
Meanwhile take a look at the following video, shot by a probably-real Nokia N8 user as a response. Nokia N8 seems to be ‘little’ faster now, eh?

Yup! Just a little bit faster. And a lot smarter…
Engadget & Gizmodo, those punk are just iPuny c*** sucker.
You’re right, Caribala. It’s Steve Jobs fault that Nokia N8 has 256 RAM (It frequently says “fsmailserver: memory full”) and a 680MHz processor… That Steve…
nokia ruls forever
good luck to nokia
Gizmodo gave more attention to Windows Phone 7 release than what it gave to Nokia N8. Anyways, Gizmodo – you should realize that more than just having a smartphone with few plus points its always good to have one which has more features.
In the end it all boils down to “What will you do with it?”. Now thats what we Nokia fans can say – Hurray Nokia – still World’s no 1 phone company…
Loving this new Nokia……..
Iphones r shit and anyone who has one is a mateless div on pause…. i got an app for that ….. A LIFE!!
Gizmodo kiss my @$$$ =) rofl
Yea the Gizmodo “test” sucked pretty hard…
Even a blind person could have finished the tasks faster on the N8 the that booze intoxicated feeble minded clown.
All their previous credibility they had on my account is waaay gone.
Did the same tasks on my “old” Nokia N900 and pretty much beat the crap out of all of them. Navigation task were pretty even with the iphone but email and photo was a joke haha!
And having all of the tasks already open it was total overkill in speed…
Guess proper multitasking owns any day of the week.
Especially after their “why we choose not to review the Nokia N8″ what the fu*k was that about except sucking Steves ba*ls??
We all know by now that they are totally biased towards a special fruit brand and only cope with Android phones and review them since they blow iphone out of the water, strange they didnt have let´s say a HTC Desire in the test.
Well borrowed an N8 for a few days from a mate at work and was pretty impressed but will wait for the E7 to arrive in December, seriously hate typing on a touchscreen so want the keyboard since I type a lot of emails and documents on-the-go.
Going to be interesting to see how well it fares against my ugly N900 but until they release
a proper Meego phone it will be in my pocket.
Niot siding with either side; Apple or Nokia.
But can’t u guys see? It’s so obvious that Nokia is getting left behind by the technologies and mobile’s current strongest challenger, Apple.
On my hands on with N8, it is slow, too slow, not worth the money to be paid for.
I would rather go for an Android or an iPhone rather than this.
Nokia should have stop with symbian when developing touchscreen phone.
I tink iphone and android users or makers are frusted they cant compeat whit nokia.
Great work on the video dude. Obviously they picked a joker who doesn’t know anything about phones to demo the N8. Your video proves this clearly. I bet that if that guy had to demo the iphone or Android, he would have made those phones look bad too. LOL!
O man…COme on there are GSM area and CNET which loves Nokia,he really sucks at using high-tech phones
. Really, all he needs is glass phone with the technology which is already behind the curve
Good luck Gizmo
N8 FTW…..Luv it
i AGREE WITH RED 20 .. even i feel its not worth , money to b paid for!!
NO more NOKIA!!
many of the bad opinions about nokia using the sym^3 is not really about the OS. and actually the OS is quite versitile now. what people really mean is probly that the UI isnt as sexy or sleek as in an android or iOS device. am i right?
but as you nokia users might know. u can change the UI with many themes ,settings and applications such as Grid or Handy Shell.
symbian is not about looking and feeling cool. its about doing stuff thet works.
emp, I agree with you. Nokia prefer to center theis vision in the productivity time with the phone, not in how it looks like (at all). I mean, Nokia develop OS to do lot of diferent things, Apple develop iOS to make it “SO GREAT” (words of an Apple fanboy).
Sorry for my bad English.
i bought my 1st nokia, an 8890 in 2000. Ive owned nothing but nokias since. Im sorry to say Im OVER IT! Ive got the n8 now and its so painful. My last phone was less painful but still very unenjoyable…fcuk! Just typing this is impossible. Nokia, step up!
